While all the pieces of this Staunton set are well designed, it is the rook that draws the eye with its pleasing proportions - proving you don't need a crown to get attention - sheer numbers can work too!
High in quality as well as weight, these pieces are made from Chidar and Rosewood. When making pieces from Rosewood, the upper part of the tree is used to obtain the attractive light brown colouring. Given their wide base, this chess set needs a board with 2 inch squares.
