Introducing our exquisite British and American Birds set of 32 Chess pieces, where elegance meets craftsmanship. Each piece is a work of art from sculptor R Fisher, intricately designed in the likeness of 7 specific American and British birds. The king, a magnificent peacock, stands proudly at five inches. Each piece is made from crushed marble. These beautiful and weighty pieces transform your chess game into a stunning display of avian grace. The first edition of this 19th century chess set can be found in the British Natural History Museum. The birds are from illustrations in the rare book of ‘British and American Birds’.

King: Golden eagle, a native of the Scottish Highlands, chained and sitting on a crown. 5″ High and Base Dia of 1.5″. Weight: 104g
Queen: Peacock
Bishop: Horned owl, perched on a be-ribboned bishop’s mitre
Knight: Peregrine Falcon, hooded and perched on a gauntlet
Rook: Raven, perched on a castellated tower
Pawn: Kingfisher on the black side, Wren on the white side
