They have very good intrinsic weight and they have cushioned bases to protect the board and allow a quality game experience. The board folds up and contains all the pieces inside. The set is secured closed with discrete magnetic fixtures neatly mounted in the solid wooden cabinet (the images show clasps but these are not now there – the closing is now much better).
